Collect and Win! San Francisco Transit Agency Launches Augmented Reality Raffle for New Station Opening

To commemorate the Feb. 19 opening of its 44th transit station, BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit), San Francisco’s main subway transit agency and Vitamin AR, our certified developer, have created a first ever augmented reality raffle on junaio, open till March 19. The prize is a random drawing for one of five $25 BART tickets.

This is how it works: using the “Station 44” channel on junaio, visitors to the brandnew  Station (West Dublin/Pleasanton), can search for a spinning 3D virtual commemorative token by pointing the camera at the wall-mounted way signs on the concourse level. Clicking on the token will open the BART website with an entry form to register for the draw.

“This is the first new BART station of the decade so we wanted to try out something new,” said Timothy Moore, BART website manager. “We’re continually looking to serve customers in new and different ways. Whether that be on our website, with our developer initiatives, or in the mobile space, we want to give people an experience that is unique in transit. Augmented reality has a great deal of promise and this is just small example of what it can do.”

So if you are in the San Francisco area, don’t miss out the opportunity to collect these tokens and win BART tickets!
