Creating a junaio Channel – As Easy as Pie!

Looking through different channels in junaio, you may ask yourself how difficult it might be to build your own channel. After all – we are talking Augmented Reality, the hottest technology around at this point in time. Fancy stuff like that is for the experts, right?

Well, wrong! Actually, junaio is making it quite easy. Of course, if you are a large company and want a really sophisticated solution you may want to hire one of junaio’s certified developers. Or you learn how to work with the junaio API yourself, which is not too hard to learn, by the way. Check it out on the junaio website.

But what about a small to medium business or even a private person wanting to create a channel for his friends or his football team? Two different techniques can be employed: either image sensitive or location sensitive AR. In case you want to know more about these possibilities, check here.

Depending on what you plan to do, there are now two different tools available:

Image sensitive AR with Channel Creator

Here we work with image recognition in order to trigger an Augmented Reality display. The camera image of a poster, a product or a piece of art is being recognized by junaio, causing a video to play or a 3D Model to be actually “glued” onto the object viewed. For this we have created our “Channel Creator”. You are free to use it, right there on the junaio website. Go and look at this video.

Location sensitive AR with Hoppala

This works with the smartphone’s built in GPS and compass to provide localisation of the user and will show points of interest around him. In order to create those points of interest easily there is the clever tool called “Hoppala” now also available for junaio AR. Go to the Hoppala site, register an account and start placing POIs, images and 3D models on a Google Map. Easy as pie!
