Wacken Will Rock With junaio

Of all the use-cases we’ve found for junaio, indoor and outdoor navigational channels have been some of the most intuitive and useful experiences for users.

That being said , I don’t think I ever expected Wacken Open Air (W:O:A) to adopt junaio for navigating their epic annual Metal Festival:

W:O:A began in 1990 in small town of Wacken in northern Germany. It has since become a sort of mecca to fans of black metal, death metal, power metal, thrash metal, gothic metal, folk metal, metalcore and hard rock. The festival generally takes place at the beginning of August each year and last three days, while almost 90,000 fans inhabit the surrounding campground. In short this is a gigantic event in Germany, and we’re pretty excited about the prospect of thousands of people rocking out to/with junaio!

Wacken-goers this year will be able to use junaio to access all sorts of information about the festival through the familiar floating navigational beacons. Even if all you need to survive at a rock festival are the show times, where to get beer, and where the restrooms are located, you’d still have more than enough information to keep the experience convenient and accessible.

When I was researching the festival, I came upon a lot of entertaining material. Enjoy the following video, in which it seems more and more that “Wacken” is not so much the name of a place but rather a powerful Metal oath.

So whether you’re Rocking, Walking, or- er, Wackening(?) this August 6, remember that junaio is your mobile companion, even at a Metal Festival.
