#Occupyjunaio part II

There’s a very cool augmented reality protest movement shaping up right now. Many developers have been taking to AR as a medium for expression regarding the Occupy Wall Street movement, the protest that has endured since September regarding the growing inequality of wealth in the United States and other countries.

junaio Certified Developer The Heavy Projects recently created a location-based junaio channel that directs users to their nearest “Occupy” event, and now there’s a small group of developers trying to get everyone in the AR community together at Wall Street itself in New York City this Saturday, November 12.

The AR Occupy Wall Street page reads “calling all AR Activists” and provides a long list of mobile AR projects that are adding their voices to the protest. In NYC and many other major cities, direct access to the financial districts and political hotspots have been restricted to the protesters. Augmented Reality experiences provide a solution, allowing anyone to overlay signs, messages, armies of protesters etc anywhere, including directly next to the New York Stock Exchange, as you can see in the video below:

If you’re an AR activist in the Northeast, make your way to NYC this Saturday to add your voice to the movement. If you don’t know how to get there, download junaio and load the “Occupy” channel- it will show you the way.
