FTW (For the Weekend): Know your Mecca with junaio

FTW (For The Weekend) will be a regular post every Friday showcasing something that we think is pretty nifty. Subscribe to the junaio blog to keep updated on all the cool stuff we discover.

Even on this Rainy San Francisco afternoon, I can still see where Mecca is. That's quite a walk.

With junaio 3.1 you can now use QR codes to activate junaio content instantly, even navigational channels. ARworks, one of our Certified Developers, just launched this navigational channel, reportedly the first AR content for Islam. No matter where you are in the world, you will always know where Mecca is.

Whether you’re Islamic or just interested in geography, anyone can now pinpoint exactly where the holiest of Islamic cities is in relation to their position. Even better, you can activate the channel using the QR code in the video. In the future, hopefully ARworks will update the channel to include assistance and Google maps-type navigation instructions for actually making the storied pilgrimage.

Have a great weekend, and we’ll see you on Monday for the first installment of “Weekest Links”.
