Bulmers launches deCIDER app with junaio Plugin

Ever wanted to turn a Snakebite back into a Lager? Just kidding.

Bulmers Irish Cider recently released a nifty Augmented Reality App built with the junaio Plugin that allows users to scan a promotional Bulmers Pint Bottle to reveal 3-D animations and interactive promotions, as well as the chance to win some pretty cool prizes. From the Bulmers Press Release:

“The new app has two main innovative features, the first of which allows users to engage with and enter promotions that are being run through pubs and bars across Ireland.

The mechanic is simple in that users download the Bulmers deCider App to their mobile device and scan their promotional Bulmers Pint Bottle to reveal the 3D animations. From the label, they then enter a code which, from May 11th to June 30th, could mean one of 17 trips for two to The Big Apple – the first round of prizes up for grabs.

Phase two of the Bulmers deCider app will see the launch of a unique, social media feature as Belinda Kelly, Trade Marketing & Events Manager explains, “We have created an event planner, which allows deCider app users to tap into events happening throughout Ireland to plan their night out in a range of venues, from large stadia to smaller, local pub events.”

Irish digital agency eightytwenty4D developed the app in conjunction with Young Euro RSCG, and Bulmers launched a fully-integrated campaign with press releases, billboards, public relations events and even television, like this great TV spot:
