Put a sock in it.
A figment of imagination spawns from the artistry of Roomism. Iconic and evolutionary, they escape into the senses of all. Abstraction, never the unthinkable has given us power to create on understated humanly visions. Racing to the limits of ink, paper, fabric and medium possibly known, the establishment of facts and fiction conjoin at our creation.
These are the words that adorn the About Us page for Roomism Design, producers of one of the most whimsical junaio augmented reality channels we’ve seen in a while. These strange, cute, bunny-looking things are brought to life with junaio. Just go to the AR Scan screen in junaio, press the camera button while viewing either of these images we’ve included in the article and you’ll be treated to either a video overlay or a 3-D animation, full of color and activity.
So what’s the story behind these surreal creatures? Roomism launched a collectible set of postcards based on their real-life Sock Creatures at the 2011 Singapore Toy Game Comic Convention (STGCC). At this year’s STGCC which just took place Sept 1-2, Roomism debuted the Augmented Reality extras with junaio.
Worry not- Roomism plans to release even more of these little critters (in junaio-enabled augmented reality postcard form) at an exhibition in Taiwan later this year. We will of course keep you updated on our Facebook and Twitter profiles of any new announcements, but in the meantime you can check out this video:
Also, very happy to say that so many of our valued junaio developers will be joining us this October 1 & 2 in Munich at our insideAR Augmented Reality conference. If you haven’t already, make sure to register so you don’t miss this awesome chance to network with some of the greatest content contributors and developers in the history of mobile augmented reality.
Enjoy your weekend- hopefully we’ll see you in Munich!
